Canteen and Food Items

Miandetta Primary School is not currently running a Canteen.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Breakfast Club

Research has shown children who eat a healthy breakfast have better concentration and attention levels, higher energy levels and overall improved mood.  To support this, we offer breakfast club in the Multi Purpose Room from 8.30 am to 8.50 am.  This service relies on the wonderful effort of volunteers.

Our breakfast club allows all students to eat a healthy and nutritious breakfast everyday.  We provide a simple menu of hot and cold milo, toast and fruit.  There is no cost to the program as it is a service we are able to provide thanks to grants and donations.

Volunteers are always welcomed.  If you have some time and would like to support our program, please contact the school office.

Parent Involvement

There are many ways for parents/carers to be involved at Miandetta Primary School.

These include through:

  • School Association
  • Fundraising Committee
  • Classroom support
  • School excursions
  • Sporting coaches
  • Breakfast club
  • Student banking

All volunteers and visitors to Miandetta Primary have a responsibility to act appropriately and model positive and respectful behaviour.  Our Respectful School Volunteer and Visitor Behaviour Policy and Process provides details.

Registration to Work with Vulnerable People

If you volunteer at our school, you will be required to have a Working with Vulnerable People card.  This became mandatory as of 1 September 2016.  You will not be able to volunteer at the school unless you have this card.  Please go online to complete the application ensuring you choose ‘Department of Education’ from the drop down box.  The cost of the volunteer application is approximately $18.00.  Our office staff can assist with this process if you need support.

You can find more information and application form on the Registration to work with vulnerable people (external website) page.

Outside School Hours Care

Before school, after school and vacation care operate on the school premises.  This service runs 52 weeks of the year, only closing for gazetted public holidays.  Care is available from 7.00 am to 8.30 am and 2.45 pm to 6.00 pm.  To enrol students in this service, contact Stepping Stones on 1300 665 699.
